ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Artist Robert Connell's Pacific Northwest landscapes begin outside, as sketches in black ink on white paper. He then brings these images into the studio and uses color to define the interior shapes. This artwork is titled for its location, 'The Columbia River Near North Bonneville.'

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Tahoma School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Robert Connell is a Seattle-base artist whose landscape paintings are characterized by his use of Sumi ink to emphasize positive and negative space. He recieved his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Washington in 1970.
