Johanna Poethig's mural in the Clark Center at Washington State University - Vancouver pays homage to area contributions to American scientific advancement and history. It also depicts three generations of caregivers, acknowledging the Clark College nursing students that use the facility.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Clark College and Washington State University.

Johanna Poethig is a visual, public, and performance artist based in California. She reflects on satire, symbol, human nature, society, and consumerism in her paintings, sculptures, and installations. Her performance work includes experimental music and video while exploring topics influenced by feminism and global politics. She was a Professor at California State University, Monterrey Bay. Poethig received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She received a Master of Fine Arts degree at Mills College in Oakland, California.
