ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Frida Blue evokes the spirit of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Using luminous paints, Alfredo Arreguin creates a radiance to emphasize the ghost of the woman that haunts many of his works.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with The Evergreen State College.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Seattle-based artist Alfredo Arreguin creates elaborate and vibrant paintings using flora, fauna, and geometric motifs, patterned intricately into a composition depicting stylized subjects. He received his BA and MFA from the University of Washington.
