ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Alfredo Arreguin made 'Skykomish' to honor the famous 19th century woodblock print 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa' by Katsushika Hokusai. The artwork refers to the style of Hokusai's wave, but depicts it with Pacific Northwest salmon.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Tahoma School District.
