ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Tram Bui's Corner depicts "building" as both a noun and a verb, capturing a moment in Seattle's history where construction could be seen citywide.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Tahoma School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Artist Tram Bui was born in Vietnam in 1972 and received her MFA from the University of Washington in 2001. She creates meticulous paintings that depict buildings under construction, composed in bright colors and an exaggerated perspective. Her works have been featured in the 2004 Northwest Biennial at the Tacoma Art Museum and the Northwest Emerging Artists Portable Works exhibition in 2009.
