ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Artist Lucinda Parker created an abstract scene of the roaring Columbia River rushing into the Pacific Ocean in Longview, home of Lower Columbia College, in southwestern Washington.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Lower Columbia College.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Portland, Oregon-based painter Lucinda Parker creates formal landscapes, figurative, and abstract compositions in an expressive, cubist style. Born in Boston, she moved to Portland, Oregon in 1969. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon and a Master of Fine Arts from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She was an associate professor at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland for over thirty years.
