Pam Beyette
(American, born 1945)

Location: Little Cedars Elementary, Snohomish

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Pam Beyette's granite and bronze sculpture uses the Western redcedar to evoke learning and development: the iconographic Pacific Northwest tree is depicted in its cone or seed form at Little Cedars Elementary and in its more mature flowering stage at nearby Glacier Peak High School. Students at each school interact with the work at different life and educational stages.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Snohomish School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Seattle-based artist Pam Beyette creates integrated public art installations. She states, "my inspiration is sourced from environmental, historical, and cultural experiences, creating art that softens the edges of our urban environment, while revealing a unique sense of place."
