ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Cynthia Krieble emphasizes color, light, and texture in this three-part portion of Home of the Coyotes, inspired by Kittitas Secondary School's mascot, the coyote and by the sagebrush, a plant native to the area and a flourishing part of agriculture in Kittitas.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Kittitas School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ellensburg-based artist Cynthia Krieble is a professor emeritus of Central Washington University, who taught painting and drawing for over twenty years. Her impressionistic landscape paintings explore color and sensuality, and are characterized by rhythmic, gestural paint strokes.
