ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Chinese-born artist Zhi Lin's work "Hoof Prints" is a study for a larger work exploring the human capacity for cruelty and punishment. Lin's work has been centered on political and social commentary since the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989, after which he immigrated to the United States. Lin is a professor of painting and drawing at the University of Washington.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Shoreline Community College.
