Barbara Earl Thomas' linocut is the first in a suite of four prints sharing the story of her family's tradition of bottom fishing.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Shoreline Community College.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Seattle-based artist and writer Barbara Earl Thomas creates visual narratives that investigate social, psychological, and formal themes. She was mentored by celebrated Northwest artists Jacob Lawrence and Michael Spafford. Her art is informed by a "long and consistent practice of including the world in her art and her life in the world."
