Ross Matteson depicts an Osprey and two fish in a mix of metals to signify Granite Falls, Washington's history with natural resource extraction and its future as the scenic gateway to the North Cascades.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Granite Falls School District.

Olympia-based artist Ross Matteson creates sculptures in a variety of media and for diverse public and private venues. He is a falconer, and his visual imagery is often inspired by birds and natural forms. He received his BA from the Evergreen State College.
