ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Artist Ken Spiering was inspired by machines and historic photographs in the collection of the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture in nearby Spokane in the creation of this large enamel and ceramic mural depicting a scene of homesteaders in Central Washington.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Kennewick School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Northwest artist Ken Spiering creates artworks in many different media, including drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Many of his works have been created for public spaces, with a focus on natural imagery rich with metaphor.
