ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Artist Katy Stone layers cut metal to evoke patterns in nature, from forests to the body's vascular system. Each layered plane creates a shape reminiscent of a raindrop, leaf, and heart.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Lake Washington Technical College.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Seattle-based artist Katy Stone creates painted sculptural assemblages and installations for public spaces. She received a BFA from Iowa State University and an MFA in painting from the University of Washington.
