ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Avalanche Lilies are a series of five large-scale stainless steel sculptures created by artist James Pridgeon to celebrate what are among the first flowers to bloom on Mount Rainier each year. The artist notes that flowers "enrich our lives and help express our deepest feelings...each is unique, resilient, and exceptionally beautiful."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Puyallup School District.
