Michael Dupille created this oversized blue ribbon to inspire viewers to reach for their highest goals. The use of glass is a nod to the importance of sand production in the area.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Valley School District.

Michael Dupille is a Seattle-based glass artist. He has pioneered different glass-forming processes, and has refined a technique in which he can "paint with glass."
