ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Artist Kiff Slemmons describes her work as being dedicated to "the power of small." In the body of work 'Measuring Up' she uses each mixed media sculpture to explore identity and community. The series was commissioned in partnership with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction as part of the exhibition "Who We Are: Autobiographies in Art."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Who We Are: Autobiographies in Art Collection.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Artist Kiff Slemmons creates sculptural jewelry in a variety of materials. She studied french language and art at the University of Iowa. She later attended the Sorbonne in Paris and studied metalsmithing in Japan.
