ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Celebrated Seattle artist Sherry Markovitz is best known for her elaborately detailed paper mache and beaded sculptures. Patterned Fawn depicts an animal head as a trophy, ornately patterned with beads. The artwork is symbolically investigating life and death, as well as exploring ideas about craft and gender through its technique and materials.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Shoreline Community College.
